Star Wars Party Book

The theme this week has definitely been, Star Wars, in terms of activities. Last week we came across the Star Wars Party book at the library. Not only does it has tons of cool recipes, it has fun activities scattered throughout as well. The boys and I scoured the pages and made a list of the ingredients and materials we would need to enjoy our favorites.

First off, Jedi Cloaks (though the book referred to them as Handmaiden Pajamas my boys saw, Jedi cloaks and requested they be made in brown dye with red sashes.)

Following the dye job, we made Jabba Juice, the tasty drink one would likely find Jabba the hut drinking. Though we suspect he would have real worms, not the jellied typed.

Moving on from there we baked and decorated Clone Trooper Cakes.

We also spent a day making a Death Star Pinata, that the young Jedi's brought down with a single blow from a light saber.

February Adventures

A quick run down of highlights before we hit the road on another adventure!

Makinley in his Super Hero vest, waits for the bus, heading to a "gig".

Pucky helps friends, with a challenging puzzle, by thinking outside of the box.

A BEGRUVI Valentine gathering inspired the creation of a Jube Jube Mind Melder (who dares to put it on??)

And heart shaped Pizza's lovingly made by Kristal and gobbled up by 10 hungry children.

And crazy Trampoline capers that lead to laughter and spiked hair.

An evidence that laughter is indeed contagious.

And lots of rocking out!

And sheer shock at how far away anyone was from bringing down the reigning Guitar Hero.

Once back home and rested from Valentine adventures, Mitchel received the much anticipated Lego Fire Station. 5 hours and 600 pieces later, the set was complete (and Mitchel had moved out of his room to live in my bathroom but that's a longer story)

When without super hero face masks, a properly placed pair of underwear will do!

Pirate Movie

Here is the latest movie Mitchel has made using his new Lego. If anyone reading this, knows where to get cheap, super cheap lego sets, please let me know. Mitchel would do a new set every day if we could afford it. He is passionate about seeing a project from beginning to end (in the lego domain).

The unusual happens ...

Here we have the boys, desperate to build one night, after nine which is usual. I wondered what they would come up with. Never once considering the possibilities that lay with in the discarded materials from the building of Puck's new office. Yet here they are, creating houses, guitars and a ton of laughter, out of foam that was head for the landfill.

On a few shots you may notice, my boys new found, posing skills. They love to pose and set up photo shoots, its tough to catch candid shots these days.

Original Musical Piece

Here is a piece Mitchel worked on late in to last night .. he did the piano first then the vocals.

I couldn't figure out how to just drop in the audio, so here a static picture of him with his work playing in the background.

He is happy to share his love for music with the world!

Happy 2009

We brought in the New Year with a meat fondue, singing, dancing and Wii playing. At Mitchel's request we put on our fancy clothes. We thought since we were all dolled up we better take a few photos.

Here are a few thoughts from throughout the night. Mitchel would like to "experience lots of new things in life," in 2009. Makinley thinks, "sledding around the streets" was the best part of 2008. Puck is looking forward to continued balance in his life and I am hoping to bring music more regularly in to my life.

We are sure this year will take us on many adventures (of which we can't even begin to predict), find us deeper in love with one another, provide time for friends, new and old.

May your year be full of love, laughter and all that you dream to be possible.
