Equinox, Easter and Renewal of Spirit

By far the most exciting part of our life over the past weeks has been meeting the Zapp Family Herman, Cande and their three children Pampa, Tehue and Paloma! These inspiration folks are on a journey to the land where dreams come true, creating their own destiny. Check them out at www.sparkyourdream.net. We as a family, have been blessed to spend time being reminded that we are all capable of making our dream come true, simply by believing in it. As our friends head out on the next leg of their journey we are wishing them well, and trusting we will see them again, some where on the path to our dream.

We celebrated the Spring Equinox with some egg decorating, painting, good food and laughter. As usual the Easter Bunny stopped by. He likes to leave a candy trail leading to a gift that either renews or begins a new passion or interest for the boys. The pictures below should sum the rest up!

We had a visit from cousin Sara, which was a huge hit with us all. She filled our home and mom's with laughter, joy and tons of imaginative play. While she was here Mitchel declared that he would like to "adopt an older sister." We have also connected with a 12 year old in the neighborhood (okay she is pretty much an extension of our family) who has quickly become the treasured babysitter! And after a long winter slumber, the bear is finally awake and Makinley was thrilled to go and visit "his bear!"

Skating

Even with his thumb, bandaged from a nasty run in with a razor, Makiley has the courage to take to the ice!! Here is a short clip of him finishing up his very first skating trip!

The Journey Continues

Mitchel has fallen deeply in love with Hockey. In true Mitchel fashion, he eats, breaths and plays hockey. He has been watching hockey, any hockey really that is on Television. He has now been to three games of the local Junior B team and he plays everyday both indoors and out!! He has plans, to build his courage and play "kid hockey" when he is nine, as a goal tender. Secretly, I hope to immerse him in it deeply now, lots of books, games and playing, so the phase passes before he gets the courage to really play. I don't know that his peace loving momma could handle being a Hockey Mom.

We were surprised to find out that Mitch can actually skate, he and Puck went to sticks and pucks at the local arena and Mitch stepped out on to the ice, and started skating.

We had a lovely visit from the Coey family, on one of the first sunny days we had, had in a while. We were able to enjoy our first outdoor picnic of the year along with lots of laughter and tag! It was soul refreshing indeed.

We have also been connecting with cousins! You will see below just how much fun the boys had when my cousins girls stopped by for the day. It was hours of fun fun fun, without conflict. It was truly brilliant to have our home filled with that much laughter.

The boys continue to experiment, explore and engage in the countless learning opportunities that arrive in their lives!
