Christmas stuff

Christmas Eve we had a decadent meal .. cheese and chocolate fondue ..

A few shots of Christmas morning and the feast I prepared for the late afternoon (another pajama feast for those of you who remember Easter)

And we super enjoyed avoiding the malls on boxing day and instead sharing Bean Hallow State Park with Puck.

Look Ma we can skate

We hit the ice for the first time in Cali (I have to say it was the most expensive, busiest, bumpiest ice we have ever hit) .. and the boys got the hang of it right away (it is worth mentioning this is only KJ's third time on skates)

Portrait of a Hockey Player

Mitchel's love for the game continues on and just the other day I thought I would capture a little of his action with my camera ...

Canadian Thanksgiving

Just cause we live in California doesn't mean we follow all the US holidays !! We happily celebrated Thanksgiving with a meal planned and prepared by Mitchel and I ..

Damn Ham (if you don't know this joke Mitchel will glady tell it to you though you should be warned there is some potentially offensive language involved)

Potato Boats

Strawberry Tarts

 Tart prep

We had some last minute dinner quests show up .. thankfully they were feeding themselves !!

Going ons

The boys took a break from hours of HALO ing on line with back home buddies to hit a local park for some in person playing with Austin. Of courses the game of choice was some live action HALO.

KJ in his Halloween costume did break from the pack in order to do some climbing cause, "that's what my body is made for mom.

On Saturday morning we discovered this fellow on KJ's football ... KJ figured it wasn't a good spot for him/her so we tried a variety of ways to move him/her. We soon became concerned for his/her welling being when there was not jumping off when we came near. We wondered, broken leg, laying eggs ..... however when we disappeared inside to do a little research our critter must have bounced off. I guess these were just some of his/her stealth you can't see me moves ...

Renaissance Faire

We had a super fun action packed weekend with The Jones' ..  Matt has been visiting us weekly for dinner and this weekend he brought the whole family over Friday for dinner and swimming and then Saturday for more swimming, dinner and a movie Saturday and finally Sunday we all headed out to the NorCal Renaissance Faire ...

It was our first experience with living history style faire places and we were super stoked to have veterans there to show us around ..

There were hats to be tried on ..

And foods to be tasted included large turkey legs and deep fried artichokes,  we stuck with the safer Pizza slices and french fries

So many characters wandered about inviting us to scavenger hunts, taunting us and over all giving us the full on experience of existing in a renaissance time.

It was fun to find tons of instruments we had not seen before and make noise with them.

Best of all however, was the entertainment .. whether it be the cast of characters sharing drunken songs, performing maidens, the family fencing or our favorite the Jousting .. it was super impressive
