Christmas Morning
The stockings where torn from the chimney with glee,
.. but truly it was the presents they longed to set free, from the paper that bound them out of sight
(response to LEGO Soccer Stadium he forgot he had wished for)
("Buba you knew what I wanted!")
(Jersey Joy)
(If you look closely, you can see the gift giver, watching in the background, with anticipation, he darn near burst every time Buba said he wanted hockey gloves for Christmas ... but he pulled it off keeping his gift a secret!)
And to quote Buba, "this is the best Christmas ever." .... pause ... "but I say that every year don't I?"

GIngerbread House
The boys were certain they wanted to make a gingerbread house. I offered the ole, graham cracker option, it got two thumbs down. They remember back to the one year, a kind friend of mine, made gingerbread for use to make our own houses (they forget the part where she was there to help assemble them, being a pastry chef and knowing much more about these things then I do)
I offered to try making the gingerbread, though Mitchel (scarred from my previous years attempt at gluten free gingerbread with the non fancy molasses) was certain there was a packaged product out in the world that would taste good (and may be ready faster)
Here are the results ...
It stayed standing for a total of 1.5 hours and apparently tasted HORRIBLE, "but we'll eat the candies."

Gram's Tree
.. lucky us with a second chance to decorate a Christmas Tree
Pretty sure these two were researching the probability of the tree remaining standing, based upon weight added ... or was it discovering the proper distribution of tinsel per branch .. hmmm
And this guy is likely trying to beef up to fit in his Santa suit
.. the mystery ornament .. what the heck kind of ornament came out of here ? ? ?
.. and KJ ever moving, ever laughing .. ever marching to his own beat

Chopping down the Tree
.. We found a great spot .. with guy tending a fire (on stress leave from tending Olympic athletes on Whistler) .. guiding us to 70 acres of trees to choose from ... and so the decision making began
This one ???
Or this one?
Or this one?
Gram finds her tree
Pucky scrutinizes the landscape
And we have a winner!
Stayed tuned for images of what we all looked like squished inside the van with our trees and 5 passengers!

Trevor Linden
.. was in Nanaimo and we went down to "see" him. The boys were very clear that they had no intention of talking to him. Lucky for us on that one as there were about a thousand folks intent on talking to him, and they had arrived long before we had. We could however get close enough to capture this video.
And then Mitch announced, " I want to look at all the Jerseys," just loud enough for the guards at the door to hear him. Apparently the store was also open for business. Sneaky of us that the jerseys we wanted to see were the ones closest to Trevor. We did get a nice close up view .. perhaps we were all too star struck to pull out the camera to get any evidence of our closeness!
